Telescope Eye Goldfish, also known as Globe Eye Goldfish, are easily recognizable because of their protruding eyes. This species originated in China around the 1800's. In Britain it is noted as the Pop-eye Goldfish.
Temperature: 65-75 degrees F
Max Size: 8 inches
Colors: Red
Care Level: Expert
The term 'telescope' is quite misleading. As these fish grow larger and thus their eyes grow larger they actually have a loss of acuity in their vision instead of an improvement as the term telescope would imply. Thus they are a handicapped fish and should be kept ONLY with fish of the same kind.
This variety is NOT suitable for ponds.
