Fantail Goldfish

The Fantail Goldfish is the most common of the fancy types of goldfish. They are also one of the oldest dating back at least 1300 years.

The most popular and hardiest of the Fantails are orange in color. This metallic orange gets deeper and brighter with age. They are also available with blue and black coloration (Nacreous Fantails). The Nacreous are less hardy.

Life Expectancy: 5-10 years

Temperature: 50-80 degrees F

This is one of the few fancy breeds that are durable enough for Pond life. They are an excellent fancy variety to begin with for the average aquarist.
