The Common Goldfish is the closest in the goldfish family to the carp. They have long sleek bodies and so are fast swimmers. When young they are a bluish color and then turn to a metallic orange with age.
Their tail is a single forked type and has well porportioned fins. The larger the aquarium or pond the larger this fish will grow.
Life Expectancy: 5-10 years
Ave Length: Pond 12-14 inches, Aquarium 6-9 inches.
Very Hardy: Can withstand temperatures from 40-80 degrees F.
Along with the Shubunkin Goldfish are ideal candidates for outdoor ponds as they can withstand large temperature changes.
